Dispatches from the Past: Northern Girl is back-to-school, squash is being bumped up a grade, and bulk potatoes are coming down from the County…‏

(Editor’s note:  this is originally from August 30, 2012.  –Leah)
Next Monday’s incoming COM bus will include Northern Girl’s root medley, veggie slaw, and salad bar beets…we’ll have arugula and Jimmy Nardello drying peppers.  We’ll have Gingergold apples and (hopefully) a few pears.

Bunched radishes of good quality are a rare treat this time of year, but Emery Farm thinks a patch will be just about right for next week.  Spinach is available in 3# bags and bulk carrots and bulk beets are in steady availability from here on out.

Lastly, though they’ve been ready for 2 weeks, I refused to list winter squash during August purely out of principle.  Well, I guess since it’s September they must begin their annual rule.

One product is going on a belated and well deserved summer vacation this week – Heiwa Tofu.  Please be aware that this product will NOT be available for shipment next week.
