Summer’s gone …

Although summer is arguably the time in our lives that is most interesting to outside eyes, around here, it’s about all we can do to make sure we eat at regular intervals, take short garden breaks, and get everyone down the road before midnight.

This all a preface to my mea culpa about the perpetual slackerdom that is my management of this blog. We’d like to think our summer looked like this:

Nicely organized Crown O’ Maine cooler …

With a side of seasonal bounty, snatched when it occurs to us that maybe we ought to take some pictures while it’s flying through our doors. We have some of this:

Glowing Green Beans, Batman!

And this:

Multitudinous MOO Milk …

And these:

Cherry tomatoes, as far as the eye can see …

But really, it was all kind of a blur. My memories of this summer look a little more like this:

Crown O’ Maine reality–SO MUCH GOOD FOOD!

It was awesome guys, a beautiful summer for growing, despite those June rains. I even got to go to the beach once or twice, which is pretty epic in my book.

I’m going to upload the missing Dispatches from the interim here, because they constitute a shorthand almanac of sorts (oxymoron, I know).  Look for more posts to follow, as I haven’t been totally useless this summer. I’ve got some Rambles up my sleeves, some awesome links coming your way, and some questions for you.

Thanks for bearing with our radio silence, trust that we used it wisely to sling veggies down the road and keep it all humming around here.

Catch you on the flipside,

The Master Distractor
